Katale Khor Cave in Zanjan Province, Iran, has opened its new map to public.

Recently being re-opened after 12 years, Katale Khor cave is located near Garmab city, almost 120 km south of Zanjan city and 410 km from Tehran.

The road from Zanjan to Katale Khor cave passes the largest brick dome in the world, Soltanieh.

Geographic studies have shown Katale Khor deeps about 105 km to link to Ali Sadr Cave in Hamedan Province.

With a length of more than 20 km, not just the longest cave in Iran, Katale Khor suites and accommodations around the cave are comfy for about 500 people who intend to stay overnight.

Lime stalactites and stalagmites, as well as huge halls and corridors which are mainly dry have added to the beauty of the cave.

Geologists from Iran, France, Italy, Switzerland and 16 other nations have given the title of a top cave worldwide cave to Katale Khor in terms of expanse and beauty.

Pertaining to the third geological era and dating back to 30 million years ago, the cave has seven floors where the third floor has water routes which are presumed to be linked to Ali Sadr Cave.

Tourists may visit 2,850 meters of the cave in the first floor which takes about an hour.
